Things I learned last night
Because I pay attention to strangers on the internet I got invited to a dinner with Bryce Roberts (@bryce, http://bryce.vc/) and a gang of other internet strangers.
I was shocked (shocked) that people didn’t know about the fantastic social/tech/intersection reporting of Alexis Madrigal at the Atlantic (@alexismadrigal, http://www.theatlantic.com/alexis-madrigal/) or the ever bubbling new liberal arts gumbo of the Snarkmarket (@robinsloan, @tcarmody & @mthomps, http://snarkmarket.com/)
The filter bubble runs deep, we can only know what we pay attention to (obvious, but still worth reflecting on).
Things we talked about:
Nickstarter, the Kickstarter parody:
The Million Dollar Hompeage:
Still a good idea, it seems like the kind of thing you can only get away with once. It reminds of DuChamp and the urinal in the art gallery. But then again artists keep finding new “ready mades” to shove into galleries and recontextualize…
Because I’m interested in getting this out the rest of the links that were talked about, reposted here as links:
