Hills and Alice and Drunken Disagreement.
Suppose we were to stand on top of a hill. What is it about that hill that makes it one? What would happen if I were to say that it is not much of a hill at all, but more of a knoll, a hump on the earth, a hiccup of augmented soil, whatever you want to call it, but certainly not a hill? How would you respond to that? My guess is that you’d probably be annoyed, much like Alice.
